Anglican - Orthodox Journey to Romania
Organised by Ian and Felicity Randall (based in Fakenham, Norfolk) in conjunction with Christiana Tours, a Romanian company catering specifically for groups with Christian and cultural interests, this ten day (nine night) journey during late September 2008 will take us through varied countryside and mountains from the area of Romania’s capital, Bucharest, in the south to the famous painted monasteries of the north east. It will include ancient and modern Orthodox monasteries, museums and castles, plus traditional crafts and music.
There will be Orthodox or Anglican worship each day, plus opportunities to attend the Othodox Liturgy. We hope to have an Anglican priest to preside at a Eucharist.
Practicalities
We will travel by modern coach with seat belts, accompanied throughout by an experienced English speaking guide. Accomodation will be in basic but comfortable monastic guest houses or 2** hotels. Costs are based on two sharing a twin room though a single supplement arrangement may be possible.
Cost will depend on numbers - a group of 40 can secure significant savings. As a guide Christiana tours suggest around 600 euros + flights - this includes all meals. Flights will be from Norwich via Amsterdam.
